About Duck It Farm, Non-GMO Feed Mill in Hickman County

About Duck It Farm

A working grain farm and feed mill in Hickman County, Tennessee. Three people, one working mill, and a commitment to doing this right.

The Name

Duck it. And the Duck River.

The farm sits along the Duck River in Hickman County. That is the geographic half of the name. The other half is more personal.

When Mike was deciding whether to buy this property, he went back and forth for months. Too expensive. Too much work. Maybe. Probably not. Then one day he said it out loud, duck it, and bought it. That is how Duck It Farm came to be. Ask Mike about it at pickup and you will get the long version.

What We Are

Duck It Farm is a working farm and feed mill in Centerville, Tennessee. We grow corn, soybeans, wheat, and hay on our land and on neighboring Hickman County farms we know personally. Our grain is non-GMO, and everything is milled fresh on-site. We sell direct to farmers, homesteaders, and flock keepers across the region.

We are not a distributor and we are not a co-op. It is us, our land, our animals, our mill, and the farms around us that we trust.

Why Non-GMO

We think carefully about what goes into food animals, because what they eat connects to what people eat. That is not a marketing angle. It is the actual reason we farm this way. Every product is non-GMO, and that is not up for negotiation based on what is cheaper in a given season.

The Farm

We have cows, goats, baby chicks, and a pair of miniature horses on the property. When you come to pick up your feed, you are welcome to look around and meet them.

The Mill

Fresh-milled. On-site. To order.

When you place an order, we mill it on-site and fresh, within 48 hours. The same recipes and the same equipment since the mill opened. The ownership changed, the mill did not. We kept the same people, the same process, and the same standards, and that is why the quality held.

We source grain from our farm and from neighboring Hickman County farms we know by name. All non-GMO. All milled right here.

Who We Are

Three people behind
everything we make.

Co-Owner

Lori

The heart of the operation. Lori describes herself as the busiest duck and farm girl around. She cares deeply about what goes into animals because she cares about what goes into people. She moved to Hickman County with Mike when they bought this farm, and she is woven into the community. She is here because she chose to be, and it shows in how the place runs.

Co-Owner

Mike

The one who said duck it and bought the farm. Mike runs hard, planting soybeans, cutting hay, working cattle, keeping the whole operation moving. He works for himself and makes things work, and when he tells you something about grain or farming, he is talking from experience, not a brochure.
